D. Cabell (D. C.) Gilley joined with Julian Levin in March of 1997 as the Levin & Gilley, LLC law firm. D. C.’s areas of practice include Real Estate, Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Administration, and Business Formations and Transactions.

Upon graduating from Davidson College and Duke University School of Law, D. C. was admitted to the North Carolina Bar. He then served for 24 years on active duty as an attorney in the Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, retiring as a Colonel. D. C. then settled in South Carolina, was admitted to the South Carolina Bar, and worked six years with the predecessor of Bank of America as Vice President and Trust Officer before beginning his practice in Levin & Gilley.

D. C. has been a member of the Sea Island Rotary Club since 1990, having served as President in 2001 – 2002.  He served on the Board of Directors of Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina from 2012-2018, including as Investment Committee Chair for three years.  D. C. also served on the Board of Boys and Girls Clubs for Northern Beaufort County from 1993-2018 and served as President of the Board of Boys and Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry.

D. C. and his wife, Nancy, enjoy being with friends in Beaufort, living on Cat Island, reading, traveling, and spending time with their children and six grandchildren.
